Netanyahu Announces Joint Israel-U.S. Operation Against Iran, Urges Public Vigilance
The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, has announced the commencement of a joint military operation with the United States aimed at countering what he described as an existential threat from Iran.
In a national address, Netanyahu said Israel and the United States had “embarked on an operation to remove the existential threat posed by the terrorist regime in Iran.”
He expressed gratitude to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, for what he called “historic leadership” in supporting the action.
“For 47 years, the Ayatollah regime has called for ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to America.’ It has spilled our blood, murdered many Americans, and massacred its own people,” Netanyahu said, adding that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons capable of threatening global security.
According to the Israeli leader, the joint military action is intended to create conditions for change within Iran. “Our joint action will create the conditions for the brave Iranian people to take their destiny into their own hands,” he stated.
He further called on various ethnic groups within Iran — including Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Balochis and Ahwazis — to rise against what he described as tyranny and work toward a “free and peace-seeking Iran.”
Netanyahu also urged Israeli citizens to strictly follow safety instructions issued by the Home Front Command, warning that the coming days of what he named “Operation Roaring Lion” would require “patience and fortitude.”
“We shall stand together, fight together, and ensure the eternity of Israel together,” he said.
