Mercy by Amrita Valan
Amrita Valan writes passionately about Mercy, a quality of destiny.
I caress, stroke the keyboard
My fingers try to feel the
Soul of each letter,
To describe mercy,
Is no mean feat.
For she sways
Still observes
Our crushed
Defeat
Half dead
Exhausted
Hopeless
As we grieve
She smiles
On our pain drilled
Tear filled eyes
Destiny’s
Handmaiden
Fate’s iron will.
But softer than
Air or
Water
Her elemental influence
Turns our
Hopelessness
Into resolve
A state of grace.
She exudes her mercy
Most
When we kneel
Surrender
Accept our state.
Who weeps for us
It is she,
Who wipes our tears
With soft zephyr breeze
She who says
The fears are real
But you can and will
Deal with them,
Dear child
Of destiny.
