Banks appointed NYC schools Chancellor in Eric Adams Administration

Thursday, December 9, 2021 — New York City Mayor-elect Eric Adams has announced the appointment of Banks has his schools Chancelor of the City.

This announcement was made today in a press conference at PS 161 Crown Heights in Brooklyn.

“Right now, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reimagine our education system to fix the entrenched inequalities that hold too many children back,” said Mayor-elect Adams.

“I’m proud that David Banks will be the next NYC Schools Chancellor trusted to make better schools a reality,” he added.

David Banks is expected to resume as as the City’s schools Chancelor on the first day of January 2022, the same day Eric Adams would be officially declared the Mayor of New York City.
