On Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin , has announced that the state government is all set to roll out a breakfast scheme for state-run school children of Classes 1 to 5. The order for the same has been signed by him for its implementation.

While addressing the students at the inaugural event of an awareness programme on mental and physical well-being of school students, the Tamil Nadu CM said that during his interaction – just before his address – with five students of a class, he got to know that three of them had not eaten anything in the morning.

Quoting an expert, he said that students should not skip breakfast. Therefore, taking into account that students have to rush to schools in the morning, the state government is all set to launch the breakfast scheme.

Mr Stalin spoke on the importance of self-confidence among school children, which is the objective behind the awareness workshop. He added the importance of mental and physical well-being for the all-round development of a student.

Mr Stalin flagged off vehicles tasked with spreading awareness of mental and physical well-being among school children.
