Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has reached National Herald House on Thursday, a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sealed the Young Indian Limited office located in the National Herald building on Wednesday (August 3).

Kharge is present at the premise of Young Indian office where ED will carry out searches in the presence of the Congress leader.

Earlier today, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into the National Herald case is an intimidation tactic by the BJP.

“We are not afraid,” he said, adding, “Whatever they [BJP] do won’t make any difference. I will continue to do the work to protect our country, its democracy and brotherhood.”

He added, “They think by putting a little pressure they can silence us. We won’t be silent. We will stand against what the BJP is doing. We will not be intimidated.”

Meanwhile, Congress MP K Suresh moved an adjournment motion notice in the monsoon session of Parliament regarding the sealing of the Young Indian Office by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wedesday.

Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge, in Parliament, said that he has received a summon from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) even as the House is functioning.

On Wednesday, after the ED sealed the Young Indian Limited office, Delhi police stepped up security outside the Congress HQ.

The Congress slammed blocking of roads to party headquarters, alleging that this has become a norm rather than an exception.

As the Enforcement Directorate sealed the Young Indian Ltd office in Delhi, Congress alleged the party was “under siege” by the government which, it said, surrounded its headquarters and the residences of party chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi as if they were “terrorists” and termed this an “undeclared emergency”.
