NYC: Amanda Fariás joins council colleagues to rally funds for MTA
New York City Council Member, Amanda Fariás, has joined her colleagues to rally funds for MTA.
The Councilwoman disclosed this via her Facebook page on Monday.
“This week I rallied with my Council colleagues and advocates from Riders Alliance ahead of the transportation budget hearing,” she said.
She added, “We called on Governor Hochul to fully fund the MTA and her budget so we can make #6MinuteService a reality.”
Fariás stated further that when the transit system fails, “it is a direct reflection of how our budget priorities are not meeting the needs of New Yorkers in need.”
“For outer-borough communities like mine in #CD18, we rely on our trains and buses to get us to and from work, school, healthcare appointments, and citywide recreation. We know how much of a necessity reliable service is – let’s get it in the budget!” she concluded.
