The Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, has joined in the post Eid celebration with the Muslim community in the post Eid celebration held in Gracie Mansion.

This was disclosed by one of the Muslim community leaders, Mohamed Bahe, on Wednesday May 3, 2023.

According to Bahe, this is the 1st time ever the NYC Muslim community have celebrated Eid inside Gracie Mansion with Mayor Eric Adams.

“This is just another proof of what this Mayor and administration has done for our community. We knew he was the right choice and that’s why we stood by him from day one. We didn’t shift or jump ship because we were committed to our community and what’s best for our community,” Bahe said.

He added, “Time to claim our voices, our Masjids, centers, organizations and make sure who ever is claiming to represent us, is doing it for the right reasons. We are being inclusive and making sure every community has the same access that many have enjoyed for years. Let’s keep the work and unite and make sure our community is growing.”

He expressed excitement that Mayor gave out toys and candy bags to young Muslim kids inside his own home.

“We have done so much in just one year, we still have a lot left to do. Thanks to BHALO for sponsoring this historic event. We had over 300+ guests! Next year, we will do it even bigger! Proud of my Muslim sisters who spoke and gave their Eid greetings. We have so many amazing people behind the scenes that are helping this dream to be a reality.”
