Rybakina, Rune power into Brisbane International finals
In a dazzling display of skill, world number four Elena Rybakina dominated the Brisbane International women’s final, defeating Czech teenager Linda Noskova 6-3, 6-2 with a formidable serving performance that included eight aces.
Rybakina, the Russian-born Kazakh who claimed victory at Wimbledon in 2022, exhibited exceptional form throughout the tournament, reaching her 15th WTA Tour final with just 12 games lost. Her opponent in the final will be determined from an all-Belarusian clash between top seed Aryna Sabalenka and former world number one Victoria Azarenka.
Meanwhile, top seed Holger Rune faced a challenging journey to the men’s final with a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 (7/0) triumph over unseeded Roman Safiullin. Despite Safiullin’s powerful play, Rune’s strategic prowess secured his place in the final.
The Danish player will face either Bulgarian second seed Grigor Dimitrov or Australia’s Jordan Thompson in what promises to be an exciting showdown on Sunday.
