Saudi Arabia provides $39 million to support Global Fund in Fight against AIDS

Saudi Arabia has provided the sum $39 million to support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

This was disclosed by the Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, who represented the Kingdom.

He disclosed this at the 7th Conference of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The conference was held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, in the presence of the US President Joe Biden and several heads of states, foreign ministers and high-level delegations.

In his speech during the conference, Dr. Al-Rabeeah said, “Saudi Arabia is one of the largest international donors to humanitarian work.”

He affirmed that supporting the health sector is one of the most important priorities of aid to the Kingdom.

“Since the establishment of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in 2002, the Kingdom has contributed $123 million for the fund,” he added, asserting that the alliance is important to strengthening international solidarity.
