New Yorkers inaugurate Healthy Lifestyle campaign
New Yorkers under the leadership of Eric Adams, Brooklyn Borough President, have inaugurated Healthy Lifestyle campaign.
Mr. Eric Adams and four other elected officials inaugurated the Healthy Lifestyle campaign on Wednesday September 7, 2020 in New York.
While speaking at the inauguration, Adams saluted the Lifestyle Lifespan, a healthy lifestyle movement that encounages healthy
consumption, a non-sedentany lifestyle and a positive mental attitude for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate.
Adams reiterated the importance of healthy lifestyle.
“I applaud Healthy Lifestyle Day that focuses on the proliferation and exponential growth of organic products, plant-based menus, and
healthier beverages coupled with a strong increase in public curiosity of centuries old reigious dietary guidelines that will provide Brooklyn residents with the opportunity of a natural living lifestyle,” he said.
He also commended the organizers for highighting the importance of positve health atitudes and preventive heath practices.
He stressed that he acknowledged the value that preventive health plays in prolonging individual lifespan and their role as productive family members.
“I recognize it as an irrefutable fact that the cost of unhealthy lifestyles on precious lives and resources is unsustainable, inequitable, and has resulted in a painful health disparity amongst New Yorkers.
“I commend Anne Sconberg a founding
benefactor of the Lifestyle Lifespan Movement that encourages increased awareness of the importance of a healtfhy lifestyle, that includes
diet, regular exercise, and medical check-up,” he added.
“I appreciate them for bringing awareness to a healthier lifestyle in the great Borough of
Brookiyn and for all that they have done to help our comnunities move forward as One Brooklyn,” he concluded.
Sheikh Musa Drammeh, founder of Lifestyle Lifespan, explained that the five leaders have committed to promoting New York Healthy Lifestyle campaign.
“These five elected officials under the leadership of Mr. Eric Adams, Brooklyn Borough President, have committed to promoting New York Healthy Lifestyle campaign,” Drammeh said.
“Eric Adams brought the house down today, with his powerful memorable and inspiring speech at the historical event. He gave a strong message for the importance of healthy lifestyle.
“All other speakers did extremely well with their speeches as well,” he added.
Felicia Kalan, a city council candidate for District 12, expressed her excitement for being part of the inauguration.
She said, “I am proud to be a founding member of the Healthy Lifestyle Day inauguration and New York Healthy Lifestyle campaign representing Queens, the event launched today in the Bronx.”
Kalan reiterated further that it is important that all New Yorkers have the necessary tools and resources for a healthy lifestyle and optimal health.
She added that it is necessary that everyone also has access to nutritious foods.
She maintained that the public need to be educated on the positive impact of healthy food, stressing that changing of diets can significantly improve human health.
Kalan also reiterated her commitment to advocating for healthy and nutritious food in schools.
“I will be a strong advocate for this at #CityHall,” she said.
